Caden pretend plays, he goes around on his hands and knees barking as he loves dogs. He’s still very loving to Cristian, he gives him big hugs with both arms and even tries holding him. He’s also been saying hi quite often. I love it when he comes by the kitchen to see what I’m doing and says “hi momma” before returning to his toys. He even tells Cristian hi which is so cute! Some words he’ll repeat right after we say them which is a pretty big leap as he used to take his time repeating them back to us. He’s still a great helper, he likes to help carry stuff in and out of the house, brings us our shoes when it’s time to go somewhere, picks up things that don’t belong on the floor like fuzz, etc and brings it to me to throw away! Caden undresses himself too! Twice now, when he’s supposed to be napping, he will take everything off (except his shirt) & takes off his diaper and goes #1 on his bedding! So he got an emergency bath. It could’ve been much worse so I’m thankful it wasn’t! Caden loves to have us clean between his toes. If we change socks during the day we must clean them and always before his bath, sometimes even twice! He puts his feet up in front of us and nods to his feet to let us know we need to be cleaning them! Caden is shy with most people but some people he warms up to very quickly. This past weekend we took a trip home for Abby’s wedding shower which was Caden’s second trip to Ulysses since he was 6 mths old and Cristian’s very first trip there. Three of Abby’s friends were there and Caden loved all the attention from them. His 5 foot rule was no longer in effect! He acted shy for a few minutes then he was really thinking these girls were fun. He was in heaven and loved all the attention from them! He also seemed to remember my parent’s house in Ulysses and made himself right at home. When we go to their house in Lenexa he walks right in and literally starts struttin his stuff - with the limp thing in his walk and all! Just shows how spoiled he is with them! I mentioned before how he loves “Happy” from 7th Heaven, well now when we’re not even in the room and the theme song plays, he gets excited and starts barking or says dog – most of the time he just barks!
Cristian has been sitting up on his own for awhile and really likes to stand as well. We’re trying to help him get interested in learning to crawl but he’s not so much for it. When he talks, I keep thinking a word is going to pop out he sounds so advanced sometimes! He still doesn’t like cereal and I don’t think he’s going to start liking it as we’ve been giving it to him since he was 4 mths. He ate sweet potatoes like a little champ today. It brought back lots of memories when Caden was ate them (sweet potatoes were his favorite) and then cleaning his little hands, I remember so well! I think it was his 2nd time to eat them & he only pushed the sweet potatoes out with his tongue after the first bite then he was eating them up! He screams in a playful manner quite often. When he gets really excited, he quietly laughs-screams in intervals so cute. He’s been using a sippy cup for a month and learned to hold it and drink (water) from it very quickly. He loves his sippy cup with ice water which is also his favorite teething toy. He LOVES the remote, as soon as he sees it he better have it or else!! He enjoys watching Caden and many times just having Caden near calms him right down when he’s upset. Cristian gets pretty anxious & trys to run off my lap to play with Caden. He’s still nursing but he is learning more and more to drink from the sippy cup to get full. His 2 bottom center teeth have cut through and one is halfway thru and the other one right behind it. He has some thicker short hair growing in so his thin baby hair that curls up may be falling out soon which I’ve been tempted to trim a few times. He wears 9 month clothing and will probably be in 12 mth very soon. I love seeing him wear clothes that Caden just wore last winter it brings back such special memories. Since he’s a larger baby than Caden was he’s falling perfectly into Caden’s baby clothes for the right season. Cristian LOVES it when I sing songs to him like Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Away in a Manger, Silent Night… it calms him right down especially when his teething is at it’s worse.
